Title
Video, Simley High School and Junior High
Description
This seven-minute recording is a portion of a 1963 film made by Joseph Fignar and Leslie McKenzie depicting Simley High School and Junior High. This particular copy was taken from the original footage and used for a 2011 reunion of the Simley Class of 1966. The film depicts physical education classes, a student play, and a choir performance in present-day C Gym, as well as students in the hallways of the former high school (now demolished); classes teaching sewing, mock trials, and dissection; mealtime in the student cafeteria; and portions of a football game against an unidentified team.
As uploaded, the recording includes a medley of songs familiar to the Class of 1966. Efforts are ongoing as of August 2024 to locate the original sound to the film.
