A description of the final days of District #436, formerly District #73, the one-room schoolhouse on Barnes Avenue in Inver Grove Township. The second-to-last one-room schoolhouse in use in Dakota County, it was annexed into Independent School District #199 that year. This article profiles the school's teacher, Mrs. Ardyce Goble, and the contentious votes to dissolve the district and join it to ISD 199.
