Subject

Experiences of teaching German at Simley High school and the program's discontinuation due to budget cuts

Description

A couple of 2024 Star Tribune articles detailed how school districts in Minnesota are creating budget cuts in an effort to decrease the accelerated budget gap which resulted from factors such as inflation. In this process, schools are limiting the diversity of options available in the educational system, leading to conflicts over the controversy of these decisions and impacts on teachers and students. These effects are demonstrated at Simley high school based on the cut of the German language program.
