Fellow Minnesotans have spoken out about the case and how the jury's verdict didn't give Corrine justice. The impact of the case on Minnesotans ultimately pressured Robert Guevara to leave the state for his own well being.

The lack of an offical crime scene, few witnesses, and no body found made it hard for the jurors to support Corrine's case; however, it supported the alibies and statements made by Guevara's legal team.

Following the disappearance of Corrine Erstad on June 1, 1992, police officers and volunteer firefighters contributed to the search of Corrine's body in the Pine Bend Landfill and in the Ramsey-Washington waste-processing plant in Newport, MN. 

Pt. 2

The Erstad family attempted to have a funeral for Corrine even though no body was found, and sadly lost a prematurely born baby, Maggie, during the process of setting up the funeral. Robert Guevara made an appearance in Minnesota during the funeral timeframe and the community was in unrest.

Pheifer describes how the trial unfolded with all the DNA evidence but Guevara was still acquitted on all accounts. Jim Backstrom, prosecutor,  spoke out about the effects of the case on the people; Anthony Torres, defendant's attorney, explains the triumph of Guevara's win.
