Despite growing up in South St. Paul (whose baseball program he discusses in relationship to the newly-formed Simley High School), Mike Murr became a Simley stalwart, teaching social studies for nearly five decades. In this interview, he discusses his career in Inver Grove Heights, the Vietnam War, the evolution of Simley's Advanced Placement curriculum, and his role as a staff member, from the school's smoking ban to its speech and debate program.
